COVID-19 REPOSITORY
The COVID19 pandemic has created a set of circumstances like nothing that has been seen by the world’s population.
Not only is there the immediate impact of high numbers of deaths but the personal, social, economic and political
repercussions are going to be felt for years to come. The Politics of Health Group has long been campaigning to raise
the profile of the causes and consequences of political and economic decision making on health and particularly on the
differentials in health outcomes that these have created.
We are concerned to maintain a good record of the reality of the pandemic
and have set up this repository as a resource for anyone who wishes to use it.
In line with our concerns it focuses on evidence and opinion pieces that highlight:-

Duty of Care - One NHS Doctor's Story of the Covid-19 Crisis by Dr Dominic Pimenta Published by Welbeck, September 2020
Duty of Care tells the full uncompromising story of the Covid-19 pandemic, from the point of view of a cardiologist working in an Intensive Care Unit. From the initial whispers coming out of China through the
collective pandemic uncertainty to full lockdown. Pimenta reveals how the healthcare system shifted to a new paradigm, saving lives on the frontline. This incredibly personal account also highlights some of the most
enduring stories of human kindness and generosity, including accounts of the heroic efforts of NHS Workers. Duty of Care gives an insight into the heart of the medical response in one of the world's worst-affected countries.
